An Important VOX ATL Update from the Board of Directors!

VOX ATL Announces New Executive Director Claire Dozier

by

ATLANTA – Claire Dozier has been selected by the Board of Directors as the next Executive Director of VOX ATL.

The “wanted poster” for all new adult staff members is an important VOX tradition!

Claire originally joined the VOX ATL community as a Board member in 2017. She is a non-profit professional and youth development specialist with fifteen years of experience in various educational and non-profit settings. She has had the privilege of working with exceptional youth and teens from diverse communities across Atlanta, from Clarkston to English Avenue. In various roles as a teacher, program manager, and director, Claire has leveraged evidence-based best practices to create environments in which young people can discover their gifts and passions, build strong relationships, and create their own success stories. She earned a Masters of Education from Montana State University and is a certified Project Management Professional.

Most recently, Claire served as Director of Operations at Bearings Bike Works, where she managed personnel and operations across three innovative programs serving hundreds of youth in southwest Atlanta. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Professional Adoption & Family Services and is the PTA Treasurer for Paul L. Dunbar Elementary in the Mechanicsville neighborhood of Atlanta, where she and spouse Jason are raising their family.

“I’ve witnessed first hand Claire’s commitment to VOX,” stated Chardina Choate, VOX Board Chair and Associate Director of Leadership Gifts at Harvard Law School. “With Claire’s knowledge of the organization, her passion to excel and her zeal for action, Claire is uniquely qualified to lead us.”

“VOX ATL is a truly extraordinary place, continually shaped by the remarkable teens who use their voices to lead, create, and advocate and the dedicated staff and volunteers who support them,” said Claire. “I am thrilled and humbled to join this incredible team and to work with all of VOX ATL’s stakeholders, partners, and supporters in building a culture across Atlanta and beyond where teens are creating, leading, and thriving.”

Founded in 1993 by a group of teen and adult volunteers, the nonprofit VOX ATL is working to lead a youth-voice movement where teens from diverse backgrounds create a stronger, more equitable community through leadership and uncensored self-expression.
