ATLANTA – Charaun Cash has been selected by the Board of Directors as the next Executive Director of VOX ATL.

The “wanted poster” for all new adult staff members is a favorite VOX tradition!

Charaun joins VOX ATL from RE:IMAGINE where she served as the development director. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the organization’s fundraising initiatives and external relations efforts. Prior to becoming RE:IMAGINE’s development director, Charaun was a community development representative for Delta Community Credit Union where she managed relationships with local schools and non-profit organizations to identify business development needs and was responsible for the Delta Community Scholarship Program which honored graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students.

Charaun is a creative at heart, passionate about investing in her community through service.  With more than 10 years of experience in communications and nonprofit management, she incorporates her personal values of integrity, servant leadership, and creativity into her work.

Charaun is a graduate of The Ohio State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and holds a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University.  She is passionate about equitable education access, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. She was a member of the Atlanta Women’s Foundation’s Inspire Atlanta class of 2020 and was recently recognized by the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Atlanta’s 30 Under 30 Nonprofit Leader Program for her outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to community work in Atlanta.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, she has called the Atlanta area home since 2015. Charaun enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, while also helping entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and social enterprises tell their brand stories through design and photography. She and her husband Destorian are the proud parents of their one-year-old son Chase with whom there is never a dull moment.

“As we celebrate and honor our 30-year legacy of youth development in Atlanta, we are inspired by Charaun’s ability to lead us forward in advancing and innovating VOX ATL’s contribution to uncensored teen voices,” stated Ariana Thomas, VOX ATL Board Chair and CEO + Chief Creative Strategist at Flylight Creative. “We are certain that Charaun’s leadership, alongside our teen leaders, creates fresh opportunities to empower youth across our city, state and beyond.”

“I am humbled and thrilled to have the opportunity to lead VOX ATL as its next Executive Director. This organization has a storied 30-year history of providing a safe space for teens to express themselves authentically and freely – a legacy I intend to preserve by collaborating with VOX staff and external partners,” said Charaun. “I look forward to building upon the solid foundation established by those before me while working to cultivate an environment that continues to amplify the voice of our teen storytellers and ensure they have the confidence and leadership skills to thrive.”

Founded in 1993 by a group of teen and adult volunteers, the nonprofit VOX ATL is working to lead a youth-voice movement where teens from diverse backgrounds create a stronger, more equitable community through leadership and uncensored self-expression.
