VOX Teen Poetry: “He Calls Me A Lover Girl”

by share

not gon lie imma lover y’all
i always have been a lover
always will be
i have loved love since i was a small child
it’s an infatuation that will never fade

i long for love
real love
true love

not unrequited love
not a false sense of love
not a toxic love

a pure love
a love that forces me to be okay with heartbreak
a love that enhances not hides me
a love that is reciprocated
one that matches me internally
a love that blooms me

not a love that questions me, changes me
not a love that harms me

but

a love that supports me, comforts me
that consoles me

thing is

the only love i have experienced thus far is
a questionable love
so, what love do you want?
