The Rituals We Follow Before November Eighth

by share

The rituals we follow before November eighth

Empty the car and flood into the voter booth,

Me, and my mother, and my baby brother to boot.

Only two of us know what’s going on

When the button is pressed voting for Hillary Clinton,

That maybe we’re voting for the best option,

Or maybe condemning ourselves to institutionalization,

Cornering our opinions into statistics and polls,

Making our feelings, seen and heard, but not known,

Love and emotion, were once hot, but lie cold

When the rituals we follow before November eighth

Are only opinion, but not at all fact based.
