DIY Halloween Costumes for All Ages

by share

Halloween Costumes are a fun way to dress up and become anything you want to be. There are thousands of costumes that can be as complicated as the Day of the Dead skeletons and as simple as ghost. Many of the costumes that are sold today are expensive and sometimes hard to find. To make your Halloween costume shopping easier here is a list of DIY Halloween costumes. Any of these costumes will be perfect for you to scare or make your friends laugh this Halloween.

Classic Ghost

Ghosts have always been a classic part of Halloween from the evil butler in The Haunted House to all of the ghosts from the The Ghostbusters movies. Ghosts have been a popular costume and there are many ways to become one of the living dead.

Getting a white sheet and cutting two holes for the eyes and one hole for the mouth, you can create the classic ghost. The daunting look of a white clothed figure walking around will surely make anyone look like a scary ghost.

The business ghost is created using business attire and adding baby powder (onto the skin) for a ghostly effect!

Business Ghost

Ghosts that spend their time working along the living in the corporate world deserve to be highlighted along with the classic. To create this professional look simply go into your closet or your parent’s closet and find any business like wear. This could include a business suit, a blouse, nice pants and professional shoes. After putting on your business wear get baby powder and spread it on your face. Now the business ghost has been created.

The Black Cat

The unlucky black cat has been a symbol of displeasure for Halloween. Perhaps the most famous black cat is Thackery Binx from Hocus Pocus. Although at first the cat seems like a wicked creature, as the plot progresses he is shown as a nice cat.

To become the scary black cat and prowl around in the night you must first dress in all black clothing. Decorate your face using face paint or eyeliner making a dot on the nose and drawing the whiskers on the face.  Last get a pair of cat ears from Walmart (clip on cat ears cost $6). Now the scary traditional cat has come alive.

This look is easily created with a short set ensemble paired with bunny ears.

The Fluffy Bunny

Bunnies do not have a reputation for haunting people or scaring them with their arched backs. Bunnies come in many appearances from the cute fluffy one to the White Rabbit and his cousin the crazy March Hare from Alice in Wonderland. All of these costumes are doable.

With pink lipstick, paint a dot on the nose and then draw whiskers. Next dress in all white. The last thing to do is to retrieve bunny ears from Walmart (bunny ears cost $5). The Fluffy bunny is now real!

The March Hare

The crazy March Hare from Alice in Wonderland is known for yelling at the Tea Party with the Mad Hatter. To create this costume, all you need are pants, nice shoes and a blazer or nice sweater with rabbit ears. The last thing to do is make your hair messy.

The White Rabbit

The always late White Rabbit is looking at his pocket watch. Just like the March Hare all that is needed is pants, nice shoes, a blazer, or a  nice sweater,  rabbit ears and a pocket watch. If you can’t find a pocket watch, a regular watch will do just fine.
