So you just finished “Avengers: Endgame.” I know, I’m emotional too. I grew up on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, seeing the first “Avengers” movie in the theater when I was 10 years old. I remember coming to the first movie on vacation at a Regal movie theater, in a bright orange shirt with all of the cast plastered on the front. As the saying goes, “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone,” and regardless of what happens at the finale of “Endgame,” it is safe to say that it marks the end of an era.
It is normal to be in your feels after this movie, but the best cure for sadness is a hefty dose of nostalgia. Now that “Endgame” is in theaters, let’s take a stroll down memory lane with some of my favorite moments featuring our beloved heroic gang.
“Puny God” Hulk vs Loki
Movie: “The Avengers” (2012)
This clip is one that will go down in history as one of MCU’s funniest moments. Although Marvel has not always hit the mark as far as humor goes, there was not one theater in all of America that was left without the giggles after this iconic scene.
Lifting Thor’s Hammer
Movie: “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015)
It’s always nice to see our favorite Avengers cut loose and have a good time. This scene is the perfect euphoria right before everything goes to hell. It’s impossible not to smile seeing everyone get along with no worries in the world. Even if it’s short-lived.
Thor vs Hulk Round 1
Movie: “The Avengers” (2012)
Even families fight sometimes. This scene brings the “Thor vs Hulk” comics to life by having the two arguably strongest Avengers go head to head.
Black Widow tames Hulk
Movie: “The Avengers:Age of Ultron” (2015)
Ah, the tragic romance of one beautiful, crazy powerful, secret agent and one handsome half-human half-green monster. No matter how bizarre their relationship may be, it is no argument that it was cute as hell.
Captain America and Iron Man vs Loki
Movie: “The Avengers” (2012)
It’s nice to see these two characters actually getting along. Although this fight is a little lackluster in combat, it is nice to see these two before all the ugly happened.
“Age of Ultron” Final Battle
Movie: “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015)
This was the last battle all the Avengers fought together. I know, I’m crying, too. But besides the nostalgia, this fight was one of the most intricate fights of the MCU. At the end of Ultron’s big I’m-a-bad-guy monologue, he asks, “How can you possibly hope to stop me?” In which Tony Stark replies, “Together.”
“Avengers: Endgame” is a movie of extreme shocks, laughs and cries. Be prepared — the beautiful bow Marvel wraps this movie in really packs a punch emotionally.
