As One Music Fest started getting closer and closer, I was steadily checking the schedule for who performing. As I glanced over it, I saw that Bryson Tiller was going to be on stage in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. Here’s a little background on who Bryson Tiller is: Tiller is an R&B artist from Louisville, Ky who emerged onto the scene in 2015 with his “Trapsoul” project which has a myriad of hits, ranging from “Don’t” and “Exchange.” I like a good amount of Tiller’s music so I was excited to see his set, but his performance exceeded my expectations.

The first thing that stuck out to me was the stage design, for his song “Sorry Not Sorry” Tiller had “Street Fighter 2” footage to pay homage, as producers Timbaland and Milli Beats sampled sound effects from the game in the intro of the song. 

Another cool thing about his set was the smooth transitions between each song. The DJ took elements of the next song and added it toward the end of the current song to create a different vibe, while simultaneously segwaying the crowd’s vibe into the vibe of the rest of the set. Tiller’s stage presence was also great. In between and during every song, he was interacting heavily with the crowd and he rarely ever used a backtrack. 

Tiller played a lot of his classic songs such as “Exchange” and “Let ‘Em Know” which all had the crowd moving and vibed out, and then he closed the set out with “Don’t” (his biggest song by himself). He also played his hit “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna during the middle of show, with a cool transition using “Maria Maria” by Santana (the song that was sampled) to intro the song, which surprised the audience. Overall, he put on quite a show for the approximately 40 minutes he was on stage and I enjoyed it. I would recommend y’all see this dude live. He’s pretty good at performing!
