Summer break is the time to unwind and relax after all of the hard work we put in during the school year. But with all of this free time, what do we do for the summer? Below is a list of places and events that teens can go to.
-
Centennial Olympic Park: Located in downtown Atlanta, admission to the park is, you guessed it, free! You can go to relax, run through the sprinklers, and on Wednesdays you can attend the famous “Wednesday Wind Down” from 5:30 to 8. For only $5 at the door, you can relax and listen to live music.
-
Atlanta Braves Game: With a complete team roster makeover this season, the Atlanta Braves are definitely a sight to see this summer. At Turner Field, you get a unique experience at every game. The crowd is energetic as they do the wave and the Tomahawk Chop to support the team as they play. Depending on where you sit and what game you attend, prices range from $10 to $100. Also, if you arrive at a game two hours early and there are tickets remaining, you can get $2 tickets.
-
Six Flags: Perhaps the most known theme park in Atlanta, Six Flags is home to the magnificent Goliath, Superman, and Batman. Recently added is the Dare Devil Dive and The Joker Chaos Coaster. General Admission is $63.99 but if you check their website, you will find deals and discounts. If you are already a season ticket holder, you’re set. Make sure you get there early because lines for rides get pretty long.
-
Atlantic Station: Located in Midtown, you can go to the many eateries there or catch up on recent movies at the Regal Cinemas. If you like free movies, every Thursday in June and July starting at 6:30 Atlantic Station shows free and current movies.
-
Slide the City: July 25th you can experience 3 different 3-mile long water slides. You do have to pay General Admission prices but only if you are accepted from the waitlist. To find out more visit http://www.slidethecity.com/events/decatur-ga/ .
