VOX ATL
Teen Survey
We’re Listening!
VOX ATL’s annual teen survey helps adults who care about youth better understand teens’ wants and needs. Teens at VOX ATL help design the survey and it’s promoted statewide.
2025 VOX Teen Survey
Georgia youth are speaking up about what matters most. VOX ATL’s 2025 Teen Survey captures authentic voices on mental health, digital safety, media literacy, and the futures they’re building. These findings shape how we design programs, policies, and resources that actually work for teens.

Thanks to Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities for supporting this statewide reach to hear from youth about how they experience mental health today and to inform our field.
Teens, parents and community partners gathered for Lights on Afterschool, a national public awareness campaign organized by the Afterschool Alliance, to celebrate youth leadership and hear our teen survey findings.

Survey Background
VOX ATL created a regional survey in 2015 to fill an information gap and help adults who work with youth understand their needs from their own perspectives. Expanding statewide in 2019 with support from Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, this strengths-based survey has evolved to center on what matters most to teens today:
Mental Health: What do teens say are the main causes of stress and their choices for stress relief? This section focuses on what teens say about stigma and access to mental health resources so we can strive to remove barriers.
Digital Literacy and Safety: How do teens navigate online spaces? What supports do they need to stay safe and engage critically with information? This section captures teen perspectives on digital wellness, content consumption, and their role as informed digital citizens.
Teen Culture and Communication: Where do teens get their information, and how do they like to communicate? What shapes their identities and communities? This section explores how teens express themselves, connect with peers, and build belonging in and out of school.
Previous surveys also gathered insights on afterschool experiences and how teens spend time outside of school, which continues to inform our understanding of teen development and opportunity.
