“The idea that people protested for civil rights, despite the rapid spread of the coronavirus goes to show how dedicated we are as a whole towards achieving equality for all,” writes VOX ATL staff writer Kayden Skeete.

This is a collection of photos that focuses on some of the captured moments from the Black Lives Matter protests that have taken place throughout the year of 2020. This collection consists of photos from protests that took place throughout various states and cities within the United States. As we are currently in the midst of a Civil Rights Movement, it is powerful to be able to see so many young people as well as adults protesting.

Being able to experience such a powerful movement that is similar to the Civil Rights Movement that took place from 1954 to 1968, is an experience that not everyone will be able to have. The documentation of these photos is so important in order for future generations to be able to learn about this modern day Civil Rights Movement, and also be able to see what it was like, as there are differences between this movement as well as the movement that took place in the 1950s and 1960s. Comparing and contrasting both of the civil rights movements that have taken place in this country is going to be something that many future generations will do, and one of the main differences that will likely be pointed out is that we are also in the midst of a global pandemic at this point in time.

The idea that people protested for civil rights, despite the rapid spread of the coronavirus goes to show how dedicated we are as a whole towards achieving equality for all.
