The light, the surges ever so brightly all around, Turning cacophony to calm laughter of our glee, Push rain out of a cloud and it trickles into a serenade, Dripping down on your head and into the cracks of our eyes, The aura inside us has never left.

[Teen Poetry] Remnants of the Sky

Standing face to face,
Your left hand and mine pressed together like in prayer,
Right hand over heart,
Eyes blink to white,
Echos of a voice that once again beguiles me,
Following it,
Emerge from the seven oceans’ water gripping on the eyelashes,
Salt stinging,
Fragments of stars to constellations,
We can name them on our way up,
In the name of a scientist who looked up long ago,
Crash into them and they’ll form something new,
What shall we name it,
Whisper in my ear,
White wings birthed from shoulder blades,
Fly, Fly, Fly,
Mist sucked up through nostrils,
Black liquid under a pair of eyes,
One pupil dark brown and the other lighter,
Black geometry painted on his face by the edges of my hair,
Hold still baby,
Our auras of Jade and aquamarine swirl in the opal atmosphere,
Palms meet flat,
Auras joined,
Water colors pigments hues of the sky,
Enchant clouds with rhapsodic smiles,
All states of matter a color,
At last they see the light,
The light, the surges ever so brightly all around,
Turning cacophony to calm laughter of our glee,
Push rain out of a cloud and it trickles into a serenade,
Dripping down on your head and into the cracks of our eyes,
The aura inside us has never left,
But at last we see the light,
The light that is us,
Purity blessed with range,
O’ flesh palms meet flat,
Breathe in together,
Skid across oceans,
Our light reaches the depths,
I dye half a school of fish and you do the other,
They mix up becoming an aquatic Aurora,
Rain drops harden in the ocean,
Becoming our constellation,
Eyes blink back to shades of brown,
Just a dream thought up in the top of my head,
An expression of your beauty,
Don’t hide it,
Burn the world with your color,
We can paint a masterpiece together.
