What a summer! Afterschool programs around metro Atlanta supported thousands of young people in arts, STEM, literacy, outdoor and other summer learning environments — and in late July spoke up about our victories and a few vents at an event hosted by Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network (GSAN) on July 20.
These summer learning professionals and advocates’ experiences mirror much of what we can see GSAN’s “Greater Atlanta Summer Learning Landscape 2022″ report, released at their July event. From serving more youth in more locations than ever before, to celebrating culture and outcomes in writing, there’s plenty to celebrate. Challenges to address remain transportation and meaningful engagement for parents/guardians as part of a holistic approach to youth development.
Hear from them directly in this video! Extra thanks to 3D Girls Inc, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, and Los Ninos Primero for providing photos from your summer programming, too!
