Your Fashion Hookup, part two

by share

As an addition to my blog from yesterday, I will continue to reflect on the summer fashion trends of 2015 and give my opinions.

  • The roomy denim can make me happy or sad. I love the idea of it, as it comes from the trend of tight skinny jeans, but gives your thighs just a little bit more room to breathe. When you think of the “roomy denim” you might be thinking of baggy jeans but, it is a clear medium between a tight skinny jean and a too-baggy jean.

  • Looking for shoes to love for the summer? Try the gladiator sandal. I’m totally in love with them. The strappy style seems to really lighten spirits with the fashion world.  It  is especially chic for the beachy weather. I have seen this trend in various ways: they can go all the way up to your knee or look more like a regular sandal when paired with jeans. If you’re looking for a cute sandal for the summer, the gladiator is the way to go.

  • The midi skirt, the midi dress, the midi trend should just stop. The idea of a dress or skirt just randomly stopping in the middle of your legs is just kind of stupid, if you ask me. The trend definitely reminds me of 50’s style dresses — and we are clearly not in the 50’s anymore. While the trend may be cute to some, my fashion sense is totally disrespected by it.

  • For the summer of 2015, the texture, the look and the love of lace is definitely one of my favorites. In fact, there was lace on my prom dress (pictured above). In my opinion, there are so many things you can do with lace as a cloth, and its versatility is what makes me love it so much.

  • Another 70s trend is trying to reappear, and I dislike it as well — the flared jean. The flared jean is much like the boot cut jean, but the bottoms are flared out. I would never wear or buy this type of pant for anybody. It just isn’t my style– I’d rather not wear clothes inspired from the 70’s that give off such a baggy look.
