The National Center for Civil and Human Rights held art and volunteer activities in honor of International Day of the Girl, October 10. The attendees created art pieces dedicated to girl empowerment and helped Stop Hunger Now box more than 10,000 boxes of food.

Alex, 18, who graduated high school last week and dressed as Roxy Lalonde from the webcomic “Homestuck,” said she was there because she likes anime.

Tai, 16, she/her, said she attended because she enjoys cosplaying, and it’s good place to hang out.

Will, 16, said he goes to MomoCon because it’s fun to be around people like him.
