The Good from Quarantine: COVID-19 Made Youth Development Pivot

by share

Youth development professionals from three Atlanta-area nonprofits met up with VOX ATL to reflect and look ahead about what we’ve all learned through the sudden and necessary shift to virtual programming — and to share what we will carry forward to maintain quality in our youth development work.

For example, Crystal Faison-Mitchell, special projects manager with Moving in the Spirit, shared: “In our strategic plan, we had ‘creating a digital dance library’ and ‘replicating pieces of our program for online’ planned down the road. But in this pandemic and being a true resource for our [community] partners, we realized, the time is now.”

Thanks to 21st Century Leaders, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, and Moving in the Spirit for grabbing the (Zoom) mic and joining us in this conversation.
