From Atlanta’s nonprofit re:imagine ATL and teen director Sierra Isley (“Percy Jackson” webseries, “Vacancy”) comes “No Comment,” a teen-made webseries to provide an additional outlet for Atlanta teens, letting them tell their stories and bring to light the issues we face.
Last Thursday Nov. 3, re:imagine hosted a panel of Atlanta locals, including VOX Investigates Teen Editor Akhil Vaidya, to discuss the current state of Atlanta given all that has occurred this year. This was followed by the unveiling of the show’s trailer, presented by the series’ director Sierra Isley, a Decatur High School junior.
The show looks promising, even though much of the style in which the series is being made doesn’t look new, having been done in many similar indie projects. What will ultimately determine the show’s execution of this style will be how it is interpreted by teens, and I am excited to see how things turn out in that regard. Considering that the show will be directed by 16-year-old Isley, who constantly stressed how crucial it is that teens get proper representation in our media during the event, we can be sure the series will give teens the voice they need.
The series is planned to start in early 2017, and each 12-minute monthly episode will be presented at Atlanta’s Plaza Theatre followed by a public discussion hosted by VOX.
