Lindsey Knox, VOX Superhero

I don’t know VOX without Lindsey Knox.

On one of my first days as VOX’s new executive director in early 2013, I met one of VOX’s most dedicated volunteers as she edited stories and pages for our first 2013 issue of the paper.

Lindsey was one of the first new Board members under my tenure as part of a concerted effort to provide our best volunteers with a path to Board leadership if they were willing to make the commitment.

Lindsey was and our organization has benefited from her passion and her leadership for the past three-and-a-half years.

Lindsey’s final day as VOX’s Board Chair came last weekend at Homecoming.

And, honestly, this week has felt weird.

In the next month, Lindsey – and her awesome husband/VOX volunteer Joel Williams – will relocate to the Big Apple as Lindsey takes the next step in her career at CNN by joining Erin Burnett’s primetime show.

Lindsey was always willing to step up and lead in any situation that faced her at VOX.

We will miss her passion and her diligence and her commitment.

In 2013, at our first Homecoming Dance & Awards Dinner, Lindsey earned our Volunteer of the Year Award.

Now that award will be named the Lindsey Knox Volunteer Superhero Award when it is awarded each summer at First Draft.

Lindsey gave her whole heart to the teens at VOX and to our organization.

Her work will never be forgotten, nor will she.

Good luck in New York, Lindsey!

We miss you already.
