In honor of VOX’s 25th birthday on May 13, 2018, we are celebrating 25 Days of VOX! For the 25 days leading up to our birthday, we will be sharing short profiles of 25 people who have been a part of VOX’s journey during our first quarter century. Follow along to learn more about the people who have made VOX the place where teens speak and Atlanta listens. Check out the other profiles here.

Maurice Garland is VOX’s Publishing Manager! He came to VOX as a mentor for our VOX Investigates project in Spring 2016 (pictured above, far right, with other mentors) and joined our adult staff in July 2017.

What’s your favorite VOX memory? It was cool seeing all the teens come together to report on the March for Our Lives and the school walkout.

What impact has VOX had on you? Working at VOX has made me more compassionate and patient,

What’s your hope for VOX’s future? I want it to grow as a go-to, well-respected media source. I want to see even more people (predominately teens) make it a daily habit to read VOX and see what the teens in Atlanta have to say.

What 3 words would you use to describe VOX? Fun, open, welcoming
