Crissinda Ponder is a VOX alumna and a current volunteer! She’s pictured here as a VOX teen.
When did you join VOX? I joined VOX in Fall 2007, which was the beginning of my senior year at Creekside High School.
What are you up to now? I’m a finance and education content editor for ABUV Media, a start-up company based in Reno, Nevada. Prior to my current position, I was a mortgage reporter and analyst for Bankrate.com.
What impact has VOX had on you? And what’s your favorite VOX memory? VOX exposed me to the possibility of a journalism-related career. I’d known since second grade that I wanted to be a writer, but I hadn’t really considered journalism before VOX. My favorite memory was interviewing Fonzworth Bentley; such a cool guy.
What’s your hope for VOX’s future? I’m hopeful that VOX continues to reach Atlanta-area teens by giving them a platform that’s not always available elsewhere, and maintains its reputation as a safe space for teens to share ideas and express themselves. Having VOX as a teen meant the world to me.
What 3 words would you use to describe VOX? Cathartic, creative, innovative
